Bug Club Comprehension is part of Pearson’s Bug Club – the first whole-school phonics-based reading programme that joins books with an online reading world to teach today’s children to read. Bug Club Phonics gives you a fun, firm foundation in phonics!
This pack contains 12 copies of The Tree. The beginning of this beautifully illustrated picture book tells the tale of a communal space enjoyed by villagers over the years, and centred around a huge old tree. We meet a girl who has grown up with the tree being an important part of her life. So, when plans for a market are proposed in place of the magnificent tree, what will happen? Children will explore the significance of the tree to the community and suggest how certain people may feel about the plans to remove it. Children will also explore the need for development versus conservation of wildlife. Part of the Suitable for children age 10-11 (Year 6)
